Quality Control Technician

Job Description

DWM Holdings is seeking a bright, motivated, systematic thinker to fill the role of Quality Control Technician. This person reports directly to the Service and Quality Manager and works closely with Production, Engineering, and Partner Service functional areas as a member of the Quality Assurance team.

Responsibilities include moving the company toward defined quality targets by implementing — and ensuring adherence and conformance to — quality assurance measurements designed to prevent mistakes and defects from occurring from the point an order is received through shipping. The Quality Control Technician is also responsible for maintaining the company’s quality assurance traceability documentation and leading the implementation of any and all containment and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement strategies to improve quality of product for increased company profitability aligned to identified quality targets
  • Manage and drive company standardization efforts, including the creation, implementation, and ongoing revision of single point lessons (SPL) and standard work instructions (SWI)
  • Work cross functionally to identify and implement continual improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and product quality
  • Perform routine data analysis of the company problem log and traceability documentation for non-conforming issues; identify and prioritize the corrective actions for the business
  • Work closely with Production management to ensure product quality control and inspection activities are being followed and properly documented
  • Participate in the training of DWM team members around quality assurance principles and processes
  • Promote continuous improvement of standards and their adherence on both the shop floor and front office to foster a sense of shared ownership over quality throughout the business
  • Perform spot tests of in-process inspections: i.e., rub tests, weld inspections, mil gauge, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent amount of work experience
  • 3 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing process that involves metal fabricating/welding and powder coating preferred
  • Knowledge of traditional job-shop workflow and strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal communication skills, including excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and work with DWM Holding’s manufacturing software package
  • Ability to learn and retain technical information provided during on-the-job training Comfortable with cross-functional communication, project management, process development, and development of training tools and materials
  • Excellent problem analysis and problem-resolution skills
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
  • Able to handle multiple, complex priorities and balance the needs of each according to business impact

Inside Sales

Job Description

DWM Holdings is the umbrella company for a portfolio of light pole manufacturing brands: United Lighting Standards; General Structures, Inc.; and Lyte Poles. We are seeking an experienced inside sales and quotations professional to fill an Inside Sales position. This person reports directly to the Engineering Sales Manager; works closely with our Partner Service, Engineering, Production, and Logistics teams; and is a member of the company’s Marketing & Sales functional area. The ideal candidate has experience in engineered-product costing, configuration, and pricing; strong relationship-selling skills; knowledge of the manufacturing pre-sales process; and a desire to find better ways of closing business.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the preparation of proposals, quotations, and information requests
  • Manage and work with manufacturer sales rep agents on a job-by-job basis to make sure product and pricing is competitive
  • Make adjustments to pricing, product, or service level as needed to win the opportunity
  • Work closely with other internal team members to manage all facets of a sales opportunity
  • Ensure that information provided by the sales agent is correct for product sizing, manufacturing, and pricing
  • Field and direct incoming calls from distributors to local agents in their region
  • Serve as a liaison between sales agents and the engineering department
  • Review and validate incoming orders for correct pricing, catalog numbers, and commission levels before order processing
  • Coordinate with vendors to retrieve costs for non-standard products or services
  • Interact with agents and support teams for product problem resolutions
  • Ongoing reporting to Engineering Sales Managers

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3-5 years of sales experience
  • Knowledge of the lighting industry and manufacturing within lighting preferred
  • Ability to understand and communicate project and product technical details to various audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented
  • Well-developed ability to independently make decisions regarding pricing and service levels to close opportunities
  • Commitment to excellent service
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

Senior Accountant

Reports to: Director of Finance

Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures in recording and analyzing financial information, assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial transactions, reports, statements, and assisting with maintaining appropriate accounting control procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform transaction processing associated with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Participate in month-end close, including monthly journal entry preparation, analysis and
    reconciliation of certain asset and liability accounts
  • Analyze various financial information to record financial transactions accurately and timely
  • Maintain accurate subsidiary and general ledger accounts by identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Perform various financial analysis and prepare reports as needed
  • Plan and manage your daily workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Support operations with physical inventories
  • Assist with workpaper preparation and documentation for annual audit requirements
  • Assist with Payroll processing
  • Perform various ad-hoc assignments as requested, including some HR and IT related items when needed
  • Other assignments as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize assignments and responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all departments

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA / MBA a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years experience in an accounting or finance function, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent thinker with strong organizational and planning abilities, with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). TEAMS knowledge helpful.
